Company History
The Company was first started on 28th February 1952 and originally met at the Station Road Methodist Church. The original name was 1st Chester-le-Street, but this was changed to 10th East Durham in 1964 when the East Durham Battalion was formed.
The Company existed as the 10th East Durham Company from 12.3.1965 with only a Junior Section, the Company Section being reformed in June 1966. The Company Section continued until 6th March 1980 when once more the Company Section closed and a Junior Section only existed. The Company Section was restarted in September 1983 with the Anchor Boy Section being started in the same year on 20th October.
The Company reverted to its original name in 2010.
